Steps Forward is a not-for-profit organization committed to helping solve the chronic homeless problem. Steps Forward adheres to the Housing First methodology: provide housing first, and then combining that housing with supportive treatment services in mental and physical health, substance abuse, education, and employment.
Steps Forward began its “housing first’’ strategy in 2013 with the purchase and renovation of the Cypress Landing apartments in Tampa, which provides permanent housing for chronically homeless residents. On November 1, 2022, Steps Forward was presented the Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative (THHI) Award given to an organization who continues to drive down homelessness and create transformational change in the Hillsborough community.
Since inception, Steps Forward has acquired and renovated over 150 units. Shepard Capital Partners provides financial management support to Steps Forward on a volunteer basis.

CRISP is a group of like-minded patriots dedicated to celebrating and honoring the service of the United States Military in the Tampa Bay area. This not-for-profit association is based on the military’s inherent values: Commitment, Respect, Integrity, Service and Pride. In 2020, CRISP and the City of Tampa dedicated a Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in MacDill Park to honor the Tampa area’s 300+ Gold Star families. In addition to initiatives to further improve MacDill Park, CRISP holds annual Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day ceremonies open to the public in the park to honor our veterans, as well as those in current military service. On March 16th, 2022, CRISP sponsored the “Remembering Our Fallen” exhibit (https://www.patrioticproductions.org/rememberingourfallen), a photographic war memorial honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. It allows those who visit to put a face with a name and truly understand the sacrifice they have made. Many Tampa Bay area families, businesses and foundations have become members of CRISP and we invite all those who share our passion to join us.
